Data controller
Eddy SportAv. Georges Henri 476, 1200 Woluwe-Saint-Lambert+32 2 734 24 58eddysport@live.beThis policy explains which data Eddy Sport collects on this site, why, how long it is kept and what your rights are. It applies to the site eddysports.be and to its Dutch and English versions.
Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is Eddy Sport, a scooter, motorcycle and bicycle dealer in Brussels, whose details appear at the top of this page. For any question about your data, write to us at the email address shown above or visit the shop.
Which data do we collect, and why?
Request forms
When you write to us from the site (contact form, test ride request, quote request, leasing request, workshop appointment request), we record the information you enter: last name, first name, email address, phone number, message, vehicle concerned, available days and, for a lease, the name of your company or employer and your VAT number. For a workshop appointment, we also record the brand, model, mileage and reason.
This data is used only to handle your request: calling you back, sending you an offer, setting an appointment. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6.1.b of the GDPR). Your consent, ticked when sending, is recorded with the request, along with its date.
Requests are sent by email to the shop team and kept in the site's management tool.
Audience measurement
To understand how the site is used (pages viewed, journeys, country, device type) and to improve it, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited. Measurement cookies are only set if you click "Accept" in the banner shown on your first visit. Without consent, or if you decline, no Google cookie is set and no identifier is assigned to you: at most, Google receives aggregated technical signals without any identifier (Google consent mode), which do not allow you to be tracked from one visit to the next.
If you accept, Google Analytics assigns a random identifier to your browser and records pages viewed, actions on the site (clicking the phone or WhatsApp link, opening a form, searching) and technical information (browser, device, language, approximate country and city). The IP address is not stored by Google Analytics 4. We do not use this data for advertising and we have not enabled Google Signals.
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by clicking "Manage cookies" at the bottom of every page.
Cart and payment (coming soon)
The online shop is not open yet. When it opens, this policy will be completed to describe the cart cookie, order data and the payment provider (Mollie).
Technical data
Like any site, our hosting records technical logs (IP address, page requested, date, browser) needed for the security and proper operation of the service (legitimate interest, Article 6.1.f of the GDPR). A mechanism also limits the number of form submissions per IP address to block robots.
Cookies used
A cookie is a small file placed in your browser. These are the cookies this site uses.
- eddy_consentement: remembers your choice in the cookie banner (accepted or declined). Necessary, kept for 6 months.
- NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the language you chose when it differs from your browser's. Necessary, deleted when the browser closes.
- _ga: Google Analytics, distinguishes visitors. Set only after your consent, kept for 13 months.
- _ga_ followed by an identifier: Google Analytics, keeps the state of the current visit. Set only after your consent, kept for 13 months.
Necessary cookies do not require your consent: without them, the site could not remember your choice or your language. You can also delete all cookies from your browser settings.
Who receives your data?
Your data is never sold. It is processed by Eddy Sport and, on our behalf, by the following providers:
- OVH SAS (France): hosting of the site and of our email. Data stays within the European Union.
- Google Ireland Limited (Ireland): Google Analytics 4, only after your consent. Some data may be transferred to the United States: Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google applies the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Mollie B.V. (Netherlands): online payment, once the shop opens.
Your data may also be disclosed to the authorities where the law requires it.
How long do we keep your data?
- Requests and appointments: 24 months after the last exchange, unless a purchase or a repair follows (accounting documents are then kept for the legal periods).
- Audience measurement data: 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Technical logs: 12 months at most.
- Cookie banner choice: 6 months.
Your rights
You can at any time request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, request its portability and withdraw your consent. Write to us at the email address shown at the top of this page: we reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, dataprotectionauthority.be.
Changes
This policy may change, in particular when the online shop opens. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
