CFMOTO warranty in Belgium: up to 5 years, on what conditions?

5 years of warranty: you see it everywhere on CFMOTO bikes. But what does it really cover, and on what conditions? Belgian rules are not the same as in France, and many buyers mix them up. Here are the essentials, based on the conditions published by the importer, CFMOTO Benelux.

In short

  • Up to 5 years: 2 years of warranty, then 3 years of extended warranty.
  • No mileage limit.
  • For new CFMOTO motorcycles sold through the official Benelux network since 1 May 2023.
  • With one key condition: follow the service schedule in the manual, throughout the 5 years.
  • The warranty stays with the bike if you sell it to a private buyer, with a step to complete within 30 days.

Two warranties, one after the other

The first two years are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity, owed by the seller on any new product bought by a consumer. During those 2 years, a defect is presumed to have existed at delivery: it is up to the seller to prove otherwise. Report it within 2 months of noticing it.

After that, the importer adds a 3-year extended warranty. It is a commercial commitment with its own conditions, set out on the CFMOTO Benelux warranty page.

The conditions

  • Buy the bike new within the official Benelux network: a bike imported through another channel is not eligible.
  • Activate the warranty between 1 May 2023 and 31 December 2027 (the dealer does it at delivery) and sign the warranty agreement.
  • Carry out every service in the manual, at the right mileages and dates, during the first 2 years and the following 3.
  • Keep detailed service invoices. At an official dealer, every service is recorded in the CFMOTO database.
  • If the bike was not serviced within the official network, a full inspection is required at the start of the extension.
  • Report a problem without delay to an official dealer, with the warranty certificate and the service invoices.

What is covered

The extended warranty pays for parts and repair labour, at an official dealer, for:

  • the engine, gearbox and transmission;
  • the frame and wheel rims (not the tyres);
  • electrical and electronic components;
  • the safety braking system (ABS);
  • the fuel system and the exhaust.

What is not covered

  • Wear parts and consumables: spark plugs, filters, chain, battery, brake pads and discs, clutch, bulbs, fuses, tyres, oils and fluids, and servicing itself.
  • Some parts: dashboard, bodywork, seats, seals, hoses, cables and wiring, accessories (even genuine ones).
  • Damage caused by use: normal wear, lack of oil or coolant, contaminated fuel, road salt or sea water, poor storage, non-genuine parts, unapproved modifications.
  • Some uses: racing, rental, riding school, taxi, professional use.
  • Incidental costs: towing, replacement vehicle, lost time.

What if I sell my CFMOTO?

The extended warranty can be transferred to a new private owner for the remaining period. They must receive the warranty certificate and send their details and the purchase document to the importer no later than 30 days after the sale. Together with the service invoices, that is a real selling point.

Beware of the French conditions

In France, CFMOTO is imported by another company, with different rules: a 5-year warranty on some models only, limited to the engine, gearbox and frame, with a 60,000 km cap. Those conditions, often quoted on forums, do not apply in Belgium. Here, the programme covers CFMOTO motorcycles with no model list and no mileage limit.

Compared with other brands

For comparison, according to the manufacturers' Belgian websites consulted on 7 November 2026: Royal Enfield states 3 years with no mileage limit, KTM up to 4 years with servicing in its network, Honda up to 6 years through yearly extensions if the service schedule is followed. With 5 years and no mileage limit, CFMOTO is among the most generous.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 5-year warranty apply to the CFMOTO 450MT?

Yes. The Benelux programme covers new CFMOTO motorcycles sold through the official network since 1 May 2023, with no model list: the 450MT, 450NK, 700MT and 800MT are all included, on the same conditions.

Do I have to have the bike serviced at the dealer?

The programme requires the service schedule to be followed and proven by detailed invoices. Servicing outside the official network requires a full inspection at the start of the extension. The simplest option is to have the bike serviced by an official dealer, who records every job.

Is the battery covered?

No, the battery is one of the parts excluded from the extended warranty, like other wear parts. For a ZEEHO electric scooter, ask us about the conditions for that model.
